John 11:21-25
The resurrection of Christ is the central theme of the Christian faith and distinguishes it from all other religions.
What does Jesus means that he is the Resurrection the life?
1)There is no resurrection and no eternal life apart from Jesus Christ. Jesus’s the source of both.
2)Beyond being the source of life and resurrection, Jesus is Life and therefore death has no power or authority over Him.
3)Jesus has authority over death and has the power to bring the dead back to life. In Luke 7:11-17 Jesus raised to life the son of a widow in Nain. In Mark 5:21-43 Jesus raised Jairus’s daughter back to life.
4)Believers in Christ shared in Jesus’s victory over death. In 1 John 5:11-12, we read “11And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. 12Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life.”
