The Righteousness of God

The Righteousness of GodRomans 1:17“For in the gospel the righteousness of God is revealed a righteousness that is by faith from first to last, just as it is written: “The righteous will live by faith.”COVID-19 is a pandemic that has infected 119 million people in 219 countries and claimed 2.6 million lives since 2019. The news of vaccine was welcomed and millions of people have been put on endless lists to get the vaccination with the hope of a cure. Developing and administering vaccines are actions that we can take for and by ourselves. However, there is a fundamental human predicament in the mortal pandemic of sin that has infected all peoples. God’s response to this human predicament should be a welcomed goodnews. All have sinned and come short of the glory of God and the consequence for sin is eternal death in hell. However, the news of a cure is God’s gift of His son Jesus Christ to die on the cross to redeem fallen humans. Romans 6:23What God wants us to do is to receive His righteousness by faith so that we can be right with Him, ourselves, and others.
